HOW ANIMAL IS DIFFERENT FROM HUMANS...

How are humans different from animals? What does it mean to be human?

- superior language

- many different languages

- specialized use of thumb and fingers

- we like to change our appearances (make-up, plays)

- ability to lie

- we look for ways to change reality (alcohol, drugs, virtual reality)

- upright walkers (consistently)

- ability to know we are being cruel

- complex emotional conditioning

- we find ways to exploit nature (drinking animals’ milk)

- seem to have superior level of intelligence.

- We can think abstractly.

- We create religion.

- We create culture

- We control the number of offspring we have (pill, abortion)

- Superior organizational skills

- Technology and ability to advance in culture

- We keep a record of our past.

- We write, drive.

- Superior ability to foresee consequences and understand the differences between right and wrong, then act accordingly.

- Brain structure: our cortex is different in size and density from other animals.

THINK ABOUT IT.
